2.  Mow lawn at 3/4 inch or lower

with a drop spreader in two directions and follow by light raking to work seed into the soil.

  1. Spray existing lawn with Round Up® (a registered trademark of Monsanto Corporation), discontinue watering lawn and wait one week until lawn is dead.

  2. After lawn is dead, scalp lawn with lawn mower. Mow in stages, lowering height adjust until there is no more than 1/2" or less of stubble. You may want to
use a power rake/dethatcher.  See soil preparation below for a better more efficient Reveille lawn.

  3. Seed with Reveille seed. Spread evenly over entire lawn area by going in a crisscross direction. Set spreader on second lowest setting and distribute at 2-3 LB/1000 sq. ft.
Work seed into thatch with rake or drag to insure seed to soil contact. Smash into soil with a water roller.
  4. Lightly Cover seed with an organic compost.
  5. Water same as with new lawn.  You are well on your way to a new lawn
